June 30-Day Challenge

modo yoga bloor west winter 30-day challenge, toronto yoga, everyday

Daily practice elevates focus, concentration and productivity, and impacts self-awareness while increasing energy. Regular yoga practice has physical, physiological, mental and emotional benefits. Breathing techniques and relaxation are scientifically proven to lower blood pressure, increase cardiovascular health/lung capacity, release tension and stress, elevate strength and resiliency, heighten energy, promote deeper sleep, strengthen immunity, foster a sense of trust, impacts self-awareness, enhances mood and amplified self-acceptance and self-worth.

We offer these challenges as an opportunity to connect and as a source of support to build regularity into your practice long after the challenge is complete and have seen time and time again that it is far more accessible to delve into self-care in this way and make (or recommit to) this healthy lifestyle alongside your fellow yogis.

3x Annually | February 1 – March 2 | June 1 – 30 | October 1 – 30
OUR STRATEGY FOR A SUCCESSFUL + HEALTHY CHALLENGE:

COMBINE HOT + WARM CLASSES

  • MINDFUL PILATES Mondays 5 pm; Wednesdays 12 pm; Fridays 1:30 pm; Saturdays 1:30 pm
  • YIN Tuesdays + Thursdays 9:30 am + 8 pm; Saturdays 3:15 pm
  • VINYASA Tuesdays + Thursdays 6:30 pm
  • STRETCH & SURRENDER, Sundays 6:30 pm

HYDRATE THOUGHTFULLY

Take your body weight, divide it by 2, then divide it by 8 = the number of 8 oz glasses of water your body requires daily, then add 1 litre per 1 hot class you take. ie. Don = 190 lbs / 2 = 95 / 8 = 12.  Don requires 12x 8.25 oz glasses of water daily + 1 litre extra per hot class

REPLENISH WITH ELECTROLYTES

We love the Superieur Electrolytes so much sell them; they are the cleanest product we’ve come across; plant-based and highly recommended by Megan O’Kelly (our community partner The Realistic Holistic). She also suggests eating these high-in-electrolytes foods throughout your challenge: leafy greens, celery, cucumbers, bananas, oranges, sweet potatoes, melons, asparagus and Himalayan Pink salt.

CO-CREATE A PEACEFUL SPACE

During a challenge, there are more students in class than usual. We ask that you be extra aware of the space and support each other by:

  • Moving your mat over a few inches to make space
  • Reserving your classes in advance
  • Claim reservation at least 10 minutes to the class start time (or your spot will likely be given to someone standing by)
  • Cancel your reservation if you’re unable to take class

MAT STORAGE FUNDRAISER

Challengers are welcome to store their mats this month in the bins by the totem pole in exchange for a PWYC donation to our Karma Cause of the month. (Suggested $10-20). Look out for the glass jar by the mat station toward to make your donation.
